Mid 70's - mid 80's
The weather was perfect! Cool and sun shiny. We left Natchez and headed for the Natchez Trace Parkway. The 445 mile parkway runs thru parts of Alabama and Mississippi before ending in Tennessee. As part of a national park, the roads are well maintained, traffic is minimal, facilities as well as camping are also available. A few stops were made at historic spots, and tree covered SAGS, so relaxing one questioned whether they should continue at all. Leaving the trace we encountered some short steep climbs from downtown Vicksburg to the hotel, home for the night.
