Our morning began with a short ride to Rest Haven for breakfast. A little more relaxed breakfast than we’ve been enjoying lately. We sat a little longer and got onto the road a little later. There were a few quick turns an unintended left and a couple of unscheduled sight seeing expeditions, but it didn’t take long for everyone to be on track. In defense the cue sheet was filled with “Don’t Miss” and “Unmarked” should have said “Don’t Blink”.
We had Best Jersey Day. Our judge was Barry. Our Winner: Steve Bryant donning his Jersey from Australia. I know I liked it. It was Happy. It was a Celebration. It had Fireworks!
Larry and Steve tend to be the front end of our pack, today they skipped breakfast, added miles in the morning endured a few flats, and still beat me home.
One week on a bike. Everything starts to move like a machine. We wake, we eat, we ride, we eat, we ride, we eat, we sleep. Things however, go on around us. Our mechanic Mike left us today for a few days to honor his father, who died this week. Mike and his family are in our thoughts and prayers, as he says good bye to the man who taught him to hunt and fish, to love the outdoors, to be the man we call friend. Big Hug from your family here at America by Bicycle.
