CCC 2014 - Day 33

Gene Emborsky July 3, 2014

Kirksville, MO to Quincy, IL

Out of Missouri, but first, a few more rollers to climb. Getting to be a nice broken record, but the temperatures were in the 50’s at the start, the sun warmed things to the low 70’s, and the winds were, what wind????

Probably the only downer for today’s riders had to do with some of the roads being more like Missouri roads than what they had seen before, and the Mississippi river flooding they saw when they got past Canton, MO (again this year, no ferry ride).

By any measurement, the day was a terrific success as we bid a fond (?) farewell to Missouri and entered state number 7 – Illinois – Land of Lincoln.

Tomorrow we ride deeper into corn, soybean country as we head out on the 4th for Springfield.

Come back and see how they did.

Stay tuned!
