Chillicothe to Kirksville, MO
Just rolling along! Literally, and figuratively. We traveled 82 miles and climbed well over 4000 feet of elevation today. It was a near perfect day for bicycle riding – low temperatures, good road (for the most part), light traffic, and what wind there was generally helped us out. We flew into the little town of Linneus for our first rest stop. It seemed easy, maybe a little too easy. The rest of the day was spent grunting up hills and screaming down the back side, only to be greeted by another series of climbs – pure fun……..well, almost! I think our riders really showed how strong they arte by all getting into the hotel by 2:30 PM, on a day when most are generally still on the road.
Not many pictures today – just enjoying the ride.
Tomorrow we cross the Mississippi River and exit another state – Illinois here we come!
Come back and see how they did.
