St. Joseph’s, MO to Chillicothe, MO
Coming out of a rest day riders are always anxious to get going. Today they had good reason. Gone were the rainstorms, humidity, and high winds, replaced, instead by low temps, low humidity, and a gentle tailwind. In other words, just about a perfect day to be on a bicycle in rural Missouri. They didn’t even seem to mind the rollers that the Show-Me state is so noted for.
They got to Maysville so fast, the newspaper reported who has greeted us for the past seven years wasn’t even there yet. SAG food consumed, they headed out for the Amish community of Jamesport, where pie awaited. Fueled by such desert, most riders were in Chillicothe (home of sliced bread) just after noon, plenty of time to enjoy the hot tub before assembling for today’s US Soccer Team’s world cup game.
Tomorrow promises more challenging rollers as they ride further into Missouri, with Kirksville being the destination.
Come back and see how they did.
