Pueblo to Lamar, CO
Coming out our second rest day, our riders were fresh and ready to tackle the 121 mile day ahead of them. This is longest distance they will have in their cross country tour. It wasn’t easy, as they faced an uptick in temperatures throughout the day, as well as a pesky headwind that would grow as the day wore on. It’s daunting to think you have already ridden 100 miles and you still have 21 more to go before your day is over.
Towards the end of the day, our riders were racing a storm that was rushing out of the very Rockies they had ridden over a few days ago. With almost all the riders in the hotel, a big dust storm preceded the rain and wind. Luckily, everyone came in safely.
Tomorrow they are faced with their second back-to-back century as they say goodbye to Colorado, and ride into Kansas.
Come back and see how they did.
