Montrose to Gunnison, CO
The wind turned friendly again today as we tried out our climbing legs in anticipation of tomorrow’s climb over the Rockies. Some of our riders went off to visit Black Canyon and were treated to all its great beauty.
We climbed Cerro Summit, were treated to a sweet downhill AND pie! We had heard the pie lady in Pleasant Valley was back in business, so we gave her the business….
After that, we had the more challenging climb of the day, getting up Blue Mesa Summit. Another nice downhill and a long look at Blue Mesa Lake made for a pleasant ride into Gunnison.
All our riders are ready for the climb they have over Monarch Pass – hopefully they will remember their cool weather gear as temps promise to be in the low 30’s at load tomorrow.
Come back and see how they did.
