Salt Lake City to Provo
The last ride day was long, but relatively uncomplicated. Mostly just ride 118 miles on the interstate. Today’s ride, coming out of their first rest day, was relatively short, but had many turns, as the route took advantage of many of the numerous bike paths in, and around Salt Lake City.
Their first task was to get through many gates that allow them to ride across Salt Lake City airport property. Then they had to pay close attention to a winding bike path that offered few visual clues as to where they were. Finally, they were treated to 17 miles on the Murdock Canal Trail that inched them closer to their hotel in Provo. That’s a lot of lefts and rights!
It was terrific to see them helping each other cope with the many twists and turns today threw at them. Heck, even an unscheduled exit from a bike path onto a frontage road with a lot of truck traffic didn’t seem to faze them.
Tomorrow they will get a chance to remember where they put their climbing legs as we head to Price.
