Sparks to Lovelock, NV.
Typical rider day: Hurry up, get all your belongings packed and ready to load. Make sure your bike is in good order. Walk to the restaurant for breakfast…………….then everything slows down…………ok, done eating, hurry up and load and get out onto the road. Today we rode much of the day on Interstate 80, from Sparks to Lovelock, NV.
The ride out of town was super…..downhill, tailwinds……awesome! After about 20 miles, the direction begins to shift, the winds become more unkind, and the temperature begins to climb (eventually it hits 90+). All of our riders did great heeding warnings about proper interstate riding and remembering to drink water often. The staff was kept busy all day making sure they had their water bottles topped off.
92 miles later we rolled into the rustic town of Lovelock, NV. Things have changed since last year, as our hotel is being updated, and there are signs of renovations all over the town. Even the one-half mile walk to the Cowpoke Café for dinner didn’t deter our group. They certainly have gotten stronger in the last few days.
Tomorrow they have a relatively short day as they get back on I80 and travel to Winnemucca, NV.
Stop back to see how they did.
