Up, up & away to Donner Pass & Truckee, CA
By my unofficial total, our rider climbed 8,240 feet of elevation today in 58+ miles. They were treated to some of the best riding anyone could ask for, as well as the most taxing of conditions. Essentially they turned left out of the hotel this morning and started to climb, not stopping until they reached Donner Pass and began the thrilling descent to Truckee. Wow, what a day. All of the riders were physically challenged, and they all did their very best. Today was one of those signature days that form lasting friendships……. and sore legs! They can’t dwell too much on that, however, as tomorrow they get to cross one state off their list, climb Mt Rose, and drop down into Sparks, Nevada.
