Distance: 66 miles
Weather: Sunny, warm, and most of the day with a tail wind!
And the fun continues as riders were able to sleep in a little later this morning and started riding around 8:00 am. There was very little climbing today - just the first hill that took us out of Vallejo on a very nice recently resurfaced back road leading to our first SAG stop. This was a particularly sweet stop as we were treated to some test tasting of numerous flavors of jelly beans from the Jelly Belly factory. Many riders are pictured below by the SAG wagon.
Moving on to a stunning view of majestic hills, we made many turns on back roads sporting many miles of irrigation for the local crops. Riders were treated to some local delicious strawberries, apricots, and sweet cherries at the second rest stop.
After this we passed through UC Davis after which several riders stopped at the local "In and Out" for a bite before setting out on another paved bike trail for the next ten miles. After leaving the trail we crossed the Capitol Bridge into downtown "Historic Sacramento" before arriving at the hotel for the night.
